As our wedding drew near, we knew it would be necessary to get the information out and send RSVP's. We could have easily used TheKnot.com's website builder, but I decided that I would like to add a more personal touch by building a wedding website myself.
First we sent out invitations with the URL printed on them. The website has all of the information a wedding guest could need, laid out in a simple, easy to understand fashion. After reviewing the information, the guest had the opportunity to RSVP. The RSVP is a web form with a PHP script on the back-end that validates the form and sends a formatted RSVP back to me via email.
This page was my introduction to the 960 Grid System, which greatly helped to make the layout and format of the site clean and organized.
Overall, this website was a success. The users found it easy and convenient. Also, the RSVP process was smooth and accurate. It helped us save paper, money, and time, and felt more meaningful than a generic template website.
